MORTON AND STONEBROOM CASUALTIES

Only 17 years of age, Private John White , a son of Mr & Mrs Henry White , of Station Road Morton , is officially reported as having been killed in action on September 6th. He enlisted in November 1915 and was attached to a Cyclists Corps being subsequently being transferred to the Royal Dublin Fusiliers and going out to France in the month of March this year. His parents have received a notification from the War Office accompanied by the usual expression of regret. Two other sons are in the Army and another in the Navy. Prior to joining up the deceased was an assistant at the Shirland Cooperative Stores.
