Church Yew Tree - 100 years old

On 22 June 2011 the Magnificent Yew Tree near the Church Porch will be 100 years old.

Canon Alfred Hall Prior, Rector of Morton, officiated at the ceremony on Thursday, June 22nd 1911 at which a small Yew Tree was planted to commemorate the Coronation of King George V.

It was planted by children representing old Morton Families – Margaret Watkinson, Freda Cauldwell, Bertie Wheeler and George Vardy.
