Derbyshire police is today launching a new telephone number which will make it easier for people get in touch with the force about issues that do not need an emergency response. From today (Monday, October 24), people will be able to contact Derbyshire Constabulary by dialling 101, which replaces the former 0345 123 3333 non-emergency number.

The Parish Council is hoping to start a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in Morton and to get started there will be an informal meeting in the Village Hall on Thursday October 6th at 7.45pm.

There appears to have been an increase in the number of push bikes taken from properties across the area. These are generally taken from outside the property or in the garden, even during the daytime.
Proposals for new parliamentary constituencies published
The independent Boundary Commission for England (BCE) today launches a 12-week consultation on its initial proposals for new Parliamentary constituency boundaries in England. Under the proposals Morton will move from the Bolsolver constituency to the North East Derbyshire constituency.
